The Controller - Mustapha Mond
Mond's Office:
Mustapha’s office maintains the lifestyle of which has been constructed for us. Our world wasn’t created by accident, but was formed by making necessary changes for leading to a better tomorrow. His office may keep the secrets in, however we don’t need secrets for the way we live now.
His Purpose:
Mustapha Mond is the Resident Controller of Western Europe, being one of the only ten World Controllers. You know he is one of the Controllers seeing how his last name means "world"!
The Outcome of John the Savage and The Controller:
The Savage (John) is from the uncivilized world and had come to the World State. Since the suicide of John, Mustapha Mond has given up his job as the Controller and has been sent to Iceland. There has been no new information since his departure. Before John’s death, Mustapha remained as one of the controllers because of the power her held. Being one of the greatest Alphas in the World State meant he could do what he wanted when he wanted. He could break the laws, make new laws, anything! However after John killed himself, Mustapha wasn’t able to handle the news and turned insane. He became confused with the past and present and wasn’t able to control himself or the tasks of his job.
Lessons Learned:
It is told that John had gone crazy after his meeting with Mustapha, which is known as one of the reasons that led to his suicide. John had learned that the ex-Controller is very much like himself, sensitive about the monotony and limited nature of the new society. John also realized that there are people out there who will never accept him because of his queer ways.
